    Opposition opened 1 NT, partner doubled, I passed, opposition called 2 spades, partner doubled. What do partner's doubles mean?

    Partners original double would normally show 15+ points, and is for penalties.
    Second double depends on partnership agreement but would normally be for take out and usually shows at least 4 cards in the other major (in this instance hearts) with a strong hand (already 15 as minimum) and tolerance at least for the other suits.
